Peregrine International is seeking motivated, dynamic individuals to fill positions for Wildlife Control technicians at various sites in the Barrie/GTA area. Experience in a broad range of wildlife control techniques, bird of prey and dog behaviour are a plus. Significant field and training requirements and excellent personal skills necessary. Professional appearance and professional attitude in dealing with high profile contracts.We use captive bred specially trained raptors to clear structures and areas of nuisance birds that create an unsightly mess with their excrements and also harbor many diseases. These diseases affect the elderly, children and pets, so feral pigeons pose not only an aesthetic problem but a health concern as well.
Candidates must be self-motivated, highly organized, and work independently without direct supervision. All equipment and birds are provided. The position will evolve for the right person into year round position. The work will consist primarily of Bird Abatement. Experience with longwings, especially lure flying and hooding is an advantage.
• Must have an education or background in wildlife. • Must read and write English proficiently. • Must have a clean and clear record (no drug or alcohol convictions). Must have a valid drivers license
• Must be able to pass a criminal record and Enhanced Background Check by CSIS/Industry Canada
• Hunting or trapping experience a plus.
• Firearms possession and acquisition certificate a plus.
Additional Duties include humane removal & exclusion of urban wildlife from commercial & residential buildings. Must be comfortable with handling ladders, working at heights, on roofs and within confined spaces. Educational presentations, training and general husbandry of the collection and a strong aptitude for facility maintenance are essential.
